The EWG implements programs and creates resources that support the development of a competitive spectrum workforce with transferable skills necessary for a rapidly changing workplace and society.
The Education and Workforce Development Working Group (EWG) aims to facilitate the development of a globally engaged U.S. STEM workforce. By leveraging the collective capacity of NSF SpectrumX member institutions, the EWG works to recruit, train, and support students, enabling them to excel in radio spectrum-related roles across industries.
To achieve this, the EWG’s actions center around four main goals:
To achieve these goals, the EWG engages in curriculum development for varied educational levels; hosts research and training experiences for undergraduate and graduate students; provides mentoring support for faculty, staff, and graduate students; offers STEM-specific professional development training; and supports community outreach efforts.
