SpectrumX makes it easy for government agencies to access our broad and diverse community through a Collaboration Advisory Board (CAB).
The Collaboration, Innovation, and Commercialization Working Group (CWG) supports NSF SpectrumX’s pursuit of collaborations with industry, federal agencies, associations, and universities that have interests in the radio spectrum. The CWG organizes and facilitates exchanges between NSF SpectrumX and potential collaborators, leveraging extensive relationships that center members have developed within the spectrum community. The CWG also engages with entities such as corporate relations offices, government relations offices, and innovation centers at member institutions to help extend NSF SpectrumX’s collaborative network.
To formalize these partnerships and facilitate structured engagement with industry and governmental agencies, the CWG established the Collaboration Advisory Board (CAB) consortium. The CAB’s tiered membership fee structure provides additional financial support for NSF SpectrumX research and enables outside organizations to benefit from direct access to the center’s network of experts and resources. CAB members contribute to center governance by providing guidance on center strategies and research directions. Additionally, CAB members are able to participate in and/or contribute to specific projects relevant to their work; obtain early access to project results; gain access to highly skilled talent (faculty and students); and work with NSF SpectrumX participants directly to apply the center’s research outcomes to solve real-world spectrum-related problems.
Much of the CWG’s work focuses on interfacing with CAB members, facilitating collaborative projects, and recruiting new CAB members to continue expanding NSF SpectrumX’s network and impact.
