Neil Jacobs has been named a 2025 Fellow of the American Meteorological Society (AMS). Jacobs is a SpectrumX External Advisory Board (EAB) member and the Chief Science Advisor for the Unified Forecast System.
According to the AMS, Fellow nominees must be active AMS members who have “made outstanding contributions to the atmospheric or related oceanic or hydrologic sciences or their applications during a substantial period of years.” New Fellows are elected annually.
Jacobs and the other 2025 AMS Fellows were officially recognized at the 105th AMS Annual Meeting in January 2025.
