Keith Seitter

Distinguished Visiting Professor at the College of the Holy Cross and Executive Director Emeritus of the American Meteorological Society

Seitter is Distinguished Visiting Professor in the Department of Environmental Studies at the College of the Holy Cross.  He also serves as Executive Director Emeritus and Senior Policy Fellow of the American Meteorological Society.  

Seitter joined the faculty at College of the Holy Cross in 2023, bringing his atmospheric science background and environmental policy experience to the interdisciplinary Environmental Studies program. From 2004 to 2022, Seitter served as Executive Director of the American Meteorological Society, taking on the role of Senior Policy Fellow after stepping down from the Executive Director position.

Seitter joined the staff of the American Meteorological Society in 1991, serving in leadership roles before being named Executive Director in 2004. Before joining the AMS, Seitter was on the faculty at the University of Massachusetts at Lowell. He earned his undergraduate degree in meteorology at the Pennsylvania State University and a doctorate in geophysical sciences at the University of Chicago. Seitter is a Certified Consulting Meteorologist and is a Fellow of the American Meteorological Society and Fellow of the Royal Meteorological Society.
