Abstract: Given the critical importance of radio spectrum to numerous applications that benefit modern society, there has never been a more opportune time for thought leaders in academia to contribute their insights and expertise to the spectrum regulatory and spectrum policy spheres. In the US alone, the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) is developing the National Spectrum Strategy, and Congress is marking up a number of spectrum-related bills. Globally, member nations of the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) are preparing for the next World Radiocommunication Conference at the end of 2023.
